Abstract
Objection:A method for simultaneous determination of organic carbon and total phosphorus by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES) was developed. Methods:In order to remove CO2 from water samples,HCl was added and samples were heated to boiling point of water. Results:The detection limits were 0.6 mg/L for organic carbon and 0.02 mg/L for total phosphorus, respectively. The precisions(RSD) were 0.4%~3.2% and 0.36% ~1.95% for organic carbon and total phosphorus, respectively. The recoveries were 83.6%~109.0% and 104.0%~114.0% for organic carbon and total phosphorus, respectively.
