Abstract

Objective To analyze the antimicrobial susceptibility of Mycoplasma isolates for rational antimicro-bial therapy. Methods BioMerieux IST kit was used for identification and susceptibility testing of the Mycoplasma strains. Results Mycoplasma positive was detected in 335 cases (55.8%) among 600 cases. Of the Mycoplasma detected,Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) alone accounted for 63.3%,Mycoplasma huminis (Mh) alone accounted for 5.1%,and Uu+Mh was indentified in 31.6%.The results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing showed that the Myco-plasma isolates were the most susceptible to Pristinamycin(97.3%),Doxycycline(95.2%),Josamycin(92.2%),Tetracycline (87.1%),while the most antimicrobial of ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin was 84.7% and 68.6%.Conclusion Pristinamycin,Doxycycline and Josmamycin can be used in the treatment of genitourinary tract infections caused by Mycoplasma. The Mycoplasma isolates must be screened for the potential trend of resistance for guiding rational antimicrobialt herapy.
