Abstract

Objective To observe the levels of blood C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) in patients with nosocomial lower respiratory tract infection. Methods The blood CRP and PCT activity in 37 patients with lower respiratory tract infection and 36 healthy persons in the control group were detected. Results The positive rate of CRP and the activity of PCT in infection group were significantly higher than that of the control one (P 0.01). Conclusion The increasing activity of CRP and PCT had monitoring effect on patients with nosocomial lower respiratory tract infection.
