On YANG Wan-li's Literary Creation

YANG Wan-li attaches great importance to writers' creative motivation.In his opinion,real life plays an important role in literary creation.Therefore he stresses writers' ability to refine the literary raw material gathered from life.Meanwhile,he puts great emphasis on the structure of literary works and has esteem for poems that are concise,rich in meaning and comprohensive.As a result,he thinks highly of late Tang poetry.Studies on YANG's literary creative theory will contribute to the research on YANG's poetry and the history of literary criticism in Song Dynasty.
