Abstract

The color reaction of rutin with Fe(Ⅲ)and its IR, UV character were studied. In the presence of pH=5.6 buffer solution and CTMAB medium . rutin can reacts with Fe(Ⅲ)to form a stable 3:1 complex. The malor absorptivity is 1.38?104 L.mol -1 .cm -1 at 590nm. Beer's law is obeyed in range of 0-50μg/25ml. This method can be applied to the determination of Fe(Ⅲ) in tobacco environmental sample with satisfactory results.
