Abstract

Objective To study the clinical therapeutic effect of using cannulated screw to cure the femoral neck fracture(FNF).Methods Thirty Two FNF patients were cured by using cannulated screw from May 2002 to December 2007.There were 22 males and 10 females, and their mean age was 33 years old(ranged 19-52 years old). All cases were fresh fracture.Twelve cases were GardenⅡ,13 cases Garden Ⅲ,and 7 cases Garden Ⅳ.Results The patients were followed up for 1-5 years, with an average time of 2.6 years. The average fracture union time was 6.2 months and excellent hip joint function rate reached 84.3%.Two patients had ischemic necrosis of femoral head in the 32 follow-up patients. Conclusion Cannulated screw fixation is a good method to treat the femoral neck fracture in young adults. It can improve the rate of fracture union and reduce the rate of avascular necrosis of femoral head.
