Abstract

To explore the effect of two factors for brain damage after asphyxia, analyze the changes of pathophysiological and relation to brain damage. IGF 1 and CGRP levels in peripheral blood were determined by using radioimmunoassay. ① IGF 1 levels among severe asphyxia, slight asphyxia and normal neonates at 1 day were different significantly ( F=11.180,P 0.001). IGF 1 and CGRP levels at 7 days were closed to group of normal neonates and compared to that at 1 day there were significantly different, but IGF 1 was lower in severe than in slight. ② Levels of IGF 1 among mild, moderate and severe HIE decreased gradually, and all were lower than pure asphyxia group, but CGRP rose and were higher than group of normal neonates at 1 day. All that IGF 1 rose and CGRP decreased at 7 days compared to levels at 1 day were significantly different, while IGF 1 was lower than group of normal neonates in severe HIE at 7 days. ③ CGRP levels was higher for neonates with subarachnoid haemorrhage at 1 day. ④ Linear correlation showed IGF 1 negatively correlated with CGRP in neonatal asphyxia and HIE at 1 day. [Conclusions] ①IGF 1 and CGRP influenced the pathophysiological processes of neonatal asphyxia, they were closely related to pathogenestic mechanism of brain damage, protected nerve system. ② CGRP played a role in subarachnoid haemorrhage.
