Abstract

Objective To study the influence of the use of ventilator on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Methods Forty-six patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome admitted to our hospital from April 2008 to April 2012 were given the ventilator treatment and the patients' recovery was recorded. Results After the treatment, the patients' heart rate and blood pressure conditions obviously improved, the PaO2 and PaCO2 conditions significantly improved, the mean arterial blood pressure (SBP) decreased, the blood oxygen saturation (SaO2 ) obviously increased and the patients' mortality was obviously lower than the general level, with statistically significant differences ( P 0.05). Conclusion The ventilator shows significant effects and can effectively reduce mortality in the treatment of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, thus can be implemented in clinical practice.
