Abstract
There is enough of rainfall and rich of water resources in the area of South China.For the people,the surface water resources is more exploited and utilized than groundwater resources.The article describes the situation and characteristics of exploitation and utilization of groundwater in south area and the environmental and geological issues caused by unreasonable development and utilization of groundwater resources.For the unreasonable situation,it puts forward some countermeasures for managing and protecting groundwater.
