Abstract
Research on training theory has always been highly attended to and has come to the advanced level in the world. In recent years, discussions were aroused on some focal issues such as: the argument on the training terminology brings about a consideration on the scope and contents of the subject of athletic training; the guiding principle for top level athletes training will be rebuilt owing to the challenge to the traditional “training cycle” theory; the basis of the theory super compensation is shaken by the new “mechanism of training adaptation”; and taking strength training as a long term and systematic research has greatly contributed to the development of athletic training theory. Reviewing on the above focal issues will help people know better about the development trend of training theory in Germany.
