Proper Understanding of Capital Category in the Socialist Market Economy

Capital is not a general category in commodity economy but a special category in capitalism economy. The general idea of Marxism about capital cannot illustrate the necessity that there does also exist capital in socialist economy. Public owned capital as a term is the introduced category of capitalist economy in the early stage of Chinese socialism and under the practical conditions of developing socialist market economy. It reflects the relations of production in socialist society.
