Relationship between level of matrix metalloproteinase-1 and soluble CD40 ligand in patients with unstable angina

Objective To analyze the correlation of metalloproteinase-1(MMP-1)and CD40 ligand(CD40L)or MMP-1 and IL-1β,so as to explore the role of expression and secretion of MMP-1 regulated by CD40L on pathophysiologicial mechanism of unstable angina.Methods The serum levels of soluble CD40L,MMP-1 and IL-1β were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 36 patients with unstable angina,24 patients with stable angina and 20 controls.And also the levels of Creactive protein(CRP) were measured by immune-turbidimetry method,and the correlations of MMP-1 and CD40L or IL-1β were analyzed,and to analyze the correlation of MMP-1 and CRP in patients with unstable angina.Results Serum levels of MMP-1,CD40L and IL-1β were significantly higher in patients with unstable angina than those with stable angina(P0.01) and controls(P0.01).MMP-1 level was stronger positively correlated with CD40L in unstable angina(r=0.486,P0.01),MMP-1 was positively weaker correlated with IL-1β(r=0.369,P0.05).Level MMP-1 were positively correlated with CRP in patients with unstable angina(r=0.489,P0.01).Conclusion It is possible reason for the expression and secretion of MMP-1 regulated by CD40 L in the rupture of coronary artery plaque.
