Abstract
Civic education in American schools has long history and goes deep into the heart of American people. Since 9/11,there have been some changes in civic education. The meanings of patriotism have been deepened by searching the common American’s identity,the federal and states government have paid more attentions to support civic education by legislation and finance. Schools emphasized on teaching and training students civic knowledge,civic skills and civic dispositions by a more comprehensive approach.
