Optimization of microwave-assisted extraction of flavonoids from Cephalanoplos segetam using response surface analysis

Abstract

In order to maximize the yield of flavonoids from Cephalanoplos segetam,single factor experiments and response surface methodology(RSM) are employed to optimize the microwave-assisted extraction conditions.The results indicate that the optimum extraction condition are as follows:microwave power 300 W,extraction time 10 min,70% alcohol as solvent,extraction temperature at 70 ℃ and ratio of material to solvent 1∶70(g·mL-1).Under these conditions,the practical yield of flavonoids is 29.95 mg·g-1,which is consistent with the predicted yield of flavonoids of 28.77 mg·g-1.Compared with the traditional solvent extraction techniques,a short application of microwave increase the yield of flavonoids greatly and have shorter extraction time.The microwave-assisted extraction technology of flavonoids from Cephalanoplos segetam is stable and feasible,this shows the obvious advantages and great potential of microwave-assisted extraction of the flavonoids from the plants.
