Time-Geographical Approach to the Study of Urban Society

This article introduces time geography as a new and efficient approach to the study of urban society. It first describes the changes of theories and methods applied in dealing with urban social problems. Time geography is particular because it emphasizes the continuity of human activities in space and time. The application of this theory on urban society is then expounded by analysis of urban planning, citizens daily activities, etc. Time geography is not only an effective way of microcosmic study, but also forms a methodological system of its own.
