Abstract
We examined the joint toxicity of heavy metals Cd and Zn impacts on the metallothionein (MT) content in Carassius auratus liver and kidney. The result indicated that, affter exposure to Cd2+ Zn2+, the fluctuate trendences of MT content in Carassius auratus liver and kidney was nearly same: increase-decrease-increase. The peak value of MT content appeared at 12 h affter exposure, which was (4.84±0.28)~(10.63±0.72) μg·g-1 in liver and (6.34±0.39)~(12.99±0.52) μg·g-1 in kidney. The MT content in liver and kidney of Carassius auratus in Cd2+ Zn2+ treatment groups were all higher than that in Cd2+ group and Zn2+group. It indicates that Zn2+ can enhance Cd2+ impact Carassius auratus tissues on synthesize MT. The increase speed of MT in liver in first 12 hs was 0.41~1.70 μg·g-1·h-1, in kidney in first 6hs was 0.41~1.70 μg·g-1·h-1. The results indicates that Cd2+ Zn2+ can induce synthesize of MT in Carassius auratus tissue mainly at the first 12 h.
