Application of Isobaric Bupivacaine Combined with Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia in Cesarean Section Operation

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the isobaric bupivacaine combined with spinal and epidural anesthesia for cesarean section operation compared with hyperbaric bupivacaine.Methods Sixty cesarean section operation patients with ASA I ~ Ⅱwere randomly divided into isobaric group and hyperbaric group with 30 patients each.The onset time,sensory block level,quality of anaIgesia were assessed,and the changes of bIood pressure and side effects were recorded.Results The anesthesia of all cases were satisfactory.Systolic and diastolic blood pressures at postanesthetic 5th minute in hyperbaric were lower than in isobaric group (P 0.05).Isobaric group presented a longer onset time than hyperbaric group (P 0.05),but the analgesia and movement recovery time was shorter (P 0.05).Hypotension,nausea,vomiting incidence rates in isobaric group were lower than in hyperbaric group (P 0.05).Conclusion Isobaric bupivacaine combined with spinal and epidural anesthesia is an effective and safe method for cesarean section operation.
