Abstract

Based on the finite element formula for seepage problems, the Paper has developed a two-dimensional steady and unsteady seepage program by using the principle of variable seepage coefficient method and APDL language of ANSYS.With this program, the position of free surface can be determined precisely through reiterative calculation.Furthermore, aiming at a material example, studies have been conducted on the stability of slope respectively under the following conditions:with the seepage field taking no account of stress influence;with the stress field taking no account of seepage influence and with two fields being coupled with each other. All these provide useful reference for the stability analysis on the slope with unsteady seepage and slope disaster prediction etc.
