Abstract
Wen Tingyun's ci poems are not written with spiritual sustenance, but their thoughts and contents never go beyond the range of beautiful repinings. Never going beyond beautiful repinings, however, does not mean being narrow_minded. In fact, Wen embodies in his beautiful repinings a very rich inner world of love. Although different in craftsmanship, Wen's ci poems achieve the same satisfactory effects as Li Shangyin's poems. However, ci poetry has more advantages than five_word and seven_word poetry in expressing psychological content, especially women's sentiment and desire.
