Expression of HER-2/neu in ovarian cancer tissues and its clinical significance

Objective:To study the expressions of HER-2/neu in ovarian carcinoma tissues and normal ovarian tissues,explore its relationship with the occurrence of ovarian cancer and clinical pathological parameters and its clinical significance.Methods:60 ovarian pathological samples were collected,including 30 samples of ovarian cancer,15 samples of benign ovarian tumor and 15 samples of normal ovary;tissue chip technique and immunohistochemical SP method were used to detect the expression of HER-2/neu in ovarian cancer.Results:The expression rate of HER-2/neu in ovarian cancer tissues was 93.3 %,compared with normal ovarian tissues(6.7%) and benign ovarian tumor tissues(26.7 %),there was significant difference(P0.05);the positive expression rate of HER-2/neu in ovarian cancer with surgical-pathological staging Ⅲ and Ⅳ was significantly higher than that in ovarian cancer with surgical-pathological staging Ⅰ and Ⅱ(P0.05);there was no significant difference in positive expression rate of HER-2/neu among ovarian cancer of different histological types and histological grades(P0.05).Conclusion:High expression and positive expression of HER-2/neu in ovarian cancer tissues are related to surgical-pathological staging of ovarian cancer,which are not related to histological types and histological grades.
