Abstract

Objective To study the effect of moxibustion at acupuncture point Sanyinjiao on the pain of uterine contraction in normal delivery and the safety of mothers and infants. Methods Totally 210 primiparas were selected and divided into three groups with a randomly single-blinded method:observation, blank and non-point moxibustion control group. When cervical dilatation being 2-3cm,we used moxibustion at Sanyinjiao and other point separately for 30min.Regulation of labor care was used for blank group. We compared the difference of uterine contraction pain and the safety of mothers and infants in the three groups. Results With the obsevation score of the doctors, the effective rate delivery analgesia of the observation group was 69.49%,higher than that of non-point moxibustion control group(45.61%) and blank group(43.10%) with a statistically significant difference(P0.05).For the 15min and 30min point moxibustion, the visual analogue scale(VAS) scores of uterine contraction pain of the observation group were 88.661±7.508 and 87.542±7.330,less than that of non-point moxibustion control group(91.825±7.300,92.246±7.209)and blank group(91.897±8.454,93.121±7.669),(P0.05).The amount of bleeding after childbirth of the observation group(187.12±50.653 ml) was less than that of other two groups(216.67±54.456 ml,214.90±54.787ml;P0.05).The Apgar scores of newborns of the observation group(9.965±0.186) was higher than that of other two groups(9.949±0.289,9.707±0.593;P0.05).Conclusion Moxibusting at Sanyinjiao can relieve delivery pain, reduce the amount of postpartum bleeding and has no harmful effects for mothers and infants.
