Abstract
Objective :To investigate whether the administration of calcium/magnesium(Ca/Mg) infusion combined with Glutathione(GSH)infusion can reduce Oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity.Method :Patients after FOLFOX4 chemotherapy were randomized into treatment group and controlgroup,and received calcium/magnesium infusion and Glutathione infusion(treatment group,n = 26) or placebo(control group,n = 24). The incidenceand severity of Oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity after four cycles were observed. Result :After four cycles of chemotherapy,26.7%(7/26) of patients intreatment group were observed gradeⅡ-Ⅲ neurotoxicity while 58.3%(14/24) in control group were. The incidence of neurotoxicity in grade Ⅱ-Ⅱwassignificantly different between the two groups( 字2=4.361,P0.05).Conclusion :The therapy of calcium/magnesium infusion combined with Glutathioneinfusion is able to reduce the incidence of Oxaliplatin-induced neurotoxicity.
