Abstract
Shiwu Shoal is the famous dangerous shoal of the middle-1ine waterway to sea in Southwest China.The current is swift,shallow,dangerous and curved,so is very difficult to be regulated.Based on the analysis of the current conditions and characteristics of hindering navigation by hydrologic records,the regulation principle and designs are proposed from the results of physical model tests.The technology standard will not only satisfy the requirement of the channel grade,but also make the corresponding section of the shoal wider and deeper according to the requirements of slowing down the current velocity and slope.The channel scale will be enlarged and the above difficulties will be solved after the construction.
