The Translation and Dissemination of the Bible in China

Christianity is said to come into China as early as Han Dynasty. Actu ally it is during Tang Dynasty that Christianity was introduced. With the introd uction of Christianity, the translation of the Bible into Chinese began, but alm ost all the Chinese versions of the Bible had lost before Ming and Qing Dynastie s. After that, more priests came, and more Chinese versions of the Bible came in to existence: classical and half-classical Chinese versions, Chinese version in the vernacular, and versions of dialects and those of minority nationalities lan guages. Thus, the Bible has disseminated in China.
