Abstract
Ti C based cermet- steel composite plates were successfully prepared by SHS + HP. The macro morphology,metallograph,Rockwell hardness and anti-bullet property were tested and analyzed. The results show that good metallurgical bonding is obstained between cermet and steel. The Rockwell hardness of cermet is more than HRA83.5. For 12.7 mm piercing incendiary projectiles,the protection coefficient of the composite plate is more than 2.10,which exceeds that of the alumina and685 steel. The composite plate might be a new generation of composite armor materials.
