A New Oriental Melon Variety “Longqing No.3”

Longqing No.3 is a new oriental F1 hybrid melon using inbred T005 as female parent and inbred Fe-2-105 as male parent.It takes 72-76 days from sowing to harvest in plastic house production.It sets fruit well on lateral branches.The young fruit is green,and the mature melon becomes yellow-green and then yellowish-white.The fruit is globe shaped with sweet and aromatic orange flesh.The sugar content of flesh is 12.50%.The average fruit is about 350-400 g and the yield per 667 m 2 is about 2 600-3 000 kg.Longqing No.3 is suitable for protected open field production in Heilongjiang,Jilin,Liaoning,and Hebei provinces.
