History of Amur River's Vice-General Yamun in Qing Dynasty

Heilongjiang drainage basin is one of broadest plain in the North-East Asia,where the Qing government had performed about 300 years of administration with Heilongjiang General Yamun(named after the name of the main stream of Heilongjiang)and Jilin General Yamun.Due to the strategic position of Heilongjiang drainage basin in the northeast of Qing Dynasty,there were altogether two General Yamuns and 14 Vice-General Yamuns where the vice-General Yamuns as military organizations would be under the commandment of the Emperor directly.As the military and administrative union,the Vice-General Yamuns make the governmental system in Heilongjiang drainage basin.This study summarizes the historical trail of setting up the Vice-generla Yamuns and regional distribution,which is of great significance to understand the patterns and changes of the politics,economy,culture and military in Heilongjiang drainage basin in Qing Dynasty.
