Abstract
Relative permeability is usually measured through experiment, but there are problems such as the overall character of an oilfield can not be reflected by core due to formation heterogeneity and measured error due to core contamination. This paper presents a new method of calculating relative permeability by using performance data including the relationship of the oil-water relative permeability, the relationship between water cut and formation water-oil ratio and by using the least square method. The new method is simple, convenient, and widely applicable. Compared with the relative permeability measured in laboratory, the value calculated by this method can better reflect the bulk property of an oilfield.
