Abstract
Objective To understand the mental health status of female nursing students and provide scientific basis for mental health education. Methods About 310 female nursing students were surveyed by using the SCL-90. Results The scores for surveyed students in interpersonal sensitivity; depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and phobia were higher than those in the norm ( P 0.01 or P 0.05). The percentage of students with psychological problems was 23. 88%. An increased PST was found with rising grade while PSDI remained stable. Conclusions Mental health education should be emphasized to female students in nursing department. It is especially important to dispel interpersonal sensitivity, depression and anxiety.
