Color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of fetal portal vein malformations

Abstract
Objective To explore the role of color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of fetal portal vein malformations.Methods The sonographic traits by colored Doppler ultrasound in 12 cases of portal vein malformations confirmed by autopsy or indirective portal vein angiography postnatal were reviewed and analyzed.Results 4 cases had portal vein stenosis,3 had absence of the portal vein,2 had situs inversus of left-right portal vein,2 had portal vein-inferior vena cava fistula,and 1 had hepatic artery-portal vein fistula.Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound is valuable in the diagnosis of fetal portal vein malformations.
