Connotation Extension and Co-construction of Silk Road Economic Belt

The idea of co-constructing the Silk Road Economic Belt put forward by Xi Jinping, chairman of China, is set against the profound international and domestic backgrounds, with important implications for regional politics, economics and social development. It is necessary to make static and dynamic analyses of the connotation of the Silk Road Economic Belt on the basis of international and domestic backgrounds since there is still no consensus on the connotation. On that premise, it is proposed to make an overall plan on co-construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, focus on Five Passage construction, innovate cooperation modes, set up the effective cooperation mechanism between countries and between Chinese provinces along the road, and strengthen risk identification and control. In view of the special strategic position of Xinjiang in co-constructing the Silk Road Economic Belt, it is essential to build the core area of the belt by giving full play to its special strategic role.
