Abstract

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of acute lipopolysaccharide(LPS) injury on liver nutrition metabolism in dairy goats, and to explore its possible mechanism.Eighteen female dairy goats with the similar body weight and age were selected and randomly divided into 3 groups which were designed as control group(CTL group),experimental Ⅰ group(TⅠ group) and experimental Ⅱ group(TⅠ group). The goats in the TⅠ and TⅠ groups were injected 100 and 200 μg/kg BW LPS of 30 mL via jugular vein, respectively, while the goats in the CTL group were injected the same volume of normal saline. The blood was collected via jugular vein at 0,1,4,8,12 and 24 h after injection to make plasma to detect the related indices of liver metabolism function and nutrition metabolism. The results showed as follows: the liver metabolism function was injured in different degree after injection of LPS.Plasma alanine aminotransferase(ALT) activity, which in CTL group was significantly lower than that in TⅠ group(P0.05) and significantly higher than that in TⅡ group(P0.05).For plasma aspartate aminotransferase(AST) activity,TⅠ group was significantly higher than CTL group and TⅡ group(P0.05),but no significant difference between CTL group and TⅡ group(P0.05).With the passage of time, plasma glucose(GLU) content in CTL group was basically stable, and that in TⅠ and TⅡ groups had a large fluctuation, but no significant difference in its mean among all groups(P0.05).Mean of plasma total protein(TP) content in TⅠ and TⅡ groups was significantly lower than that in CTL group(P0.05).With the passage of time, plasma albumin(ALB) content in CTL group was basically stable, and that in TⅠ and TⅡ groups presented a gradually decreasing trend, but no significant difference in its mean among all groups(P0.05).Means of contents of plasma urea nitrogen(UN),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL),low density lipoprotein(LDL) and cholesterol(CHOL) were presented as TⅠ groupTⅡ groupCTL group, and above indices except LDL in TⅠ and TⅡ groups were significantly higher than those in CTL group(P0.05).Moreover,means of contents of plasma HDL and CHOL in TⅠ group were significantly higher than those in TⅡ groups(P0.05).It is concluded that LPS can cause liver injury and then affect liver nutrition metabolism in dairy goats, and these effects are related to the dose of LPS.
