Relationship Between College Students' Personality Characteristics and Preference of Sports

Abstract

Based on the theory of five basic personality pattern,the article studies the college students and explores the impact of college students' personality characteristics against their preference of sports.The results show:firstly,according to sports preference over the general characteristics of college students,college students prefer collective sports to individual sports;Secondly,men and women'preference for individual sports and challenging sports are not notably different.Thirdly,male students relatively prefer the competitive sports,while female college students prefer the non-competitive sports.At last,there is a significant difference between men and women in preference for sports which need guidance in advance.
