A Ponder on Political Participation of New Social Classes

New social classes have been coming out and growing up with China's opening to the outside world and reform and the socialist market economy building.They have become an important force for the Chinese-characteristic socialism building.They are getting more and more concerned about democracy and equality.Their senses of competition and participation in politics,and their desire to express their interest appeal as well are getting more and more intense and urgent.Currently,their participation in politics takes on the following features: utilitarian motive,hierarchical consciousness,psychological contradiction,non-organized behavior and so on.Their sense of participating in the political affairs differs a lot from person to person.Motives for participation are less of obligation;the individual participation is more than the organized participation;the channels of their participation are impeded;the institutional arrangement is more than the initiative participation.It is proposed that with the view of scientific development as guide the political role placement for the new social classes be completed;their political status be improved,the existing political system be innovated;more opportunities be offered for them to participate in politics;and they be guided to participate in politics orderly.
