Outcome Comparison of Tension Free Vaginal Tape and Transobturator Tension-Free Urethral Suspension in Old Female Patients with Stress Urinary Incontinence

Objective: To compare outcomes of the surgical treatment of female stress urinary in-continence(SUI) with tension-free vaginal tape(TVT) and transobturator tension-free vaginal tape(TVT-O) and to investigate the change of life quality of the old female patients of SUI before and after the surgeries.Methods: A total of 167 women with SUI were assigned to undergo either TVT or TVT-O surgery.Therapeutic effect was evaluated according to classification of Grouts-Blaivas outcome score.The evaluation of change of life quality before and after the surgeries was based on in-continence quality of life in stress(I-QOL).Results: TVT and TVT-O both have advantages of reliability and miniinvasion.The efficacy of TVT is similar to that of TVT-O group(P0.05).After operation,the mental state health,physiology health,social activity and the marriage family conditions of the patients had improvement,respectively(all P0.01) expect their sexual function.Conclusion: The tension-free urethralsuspensions are effective and safe for the treatment of SUI in old women and improve their life quality.
