Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical distribution of extended-spectrum β-lactamases and drug-resistance in Escherichia coli isolates for the purpose of providing a basis for rational use of antibiotics in clinical practice. Methods Kirby-Bauer(K-B) method was used in susceptibility testing and ESBLs producers were detected by CLSI Phenotypic Confirmatory Test, respectively. Results 65.03%(106/163) strains are ESBLs positive among 163 strains of Escherichia coli.In samples distribution, urine specimens showed the highest detection rate of 49.06%(52/106),but departments to the highest detection rate of 16.98%(18/106)in Intensive Care Unit(ICU).In 16 antibiotics, the sensitive rate of ESBLs-producing strains to imipenem and meropenem was the most highest(100%).In addition to cefoxitin, meropenem, amikacin and imipenem, resistance rates of ESBLs-producing strains to other antibiotic were significantly higher than that of non-ESBLs strains(P0.01).Conclusion ESBLs-producing E.coli of Hospital is very serious. So more attention should be paid to monitoring and set up the whole surveillance system to ESBLs.It is very important for clinic to choose antibiotic rationally and adjust clinical treatment timely.
