Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes of intestinal motility of rats with cirrhosis and its mechanisms. Methods Twenty Wistat rats were randomly divided into control group and cirrhosis model group. The intestinal motility changes of rats were assayed by Dextran blue_2000 as an indicator, and the contents of substance P (SP),samatostatian (SS)and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) in plasma were detected with radioimmunoassay.Meanwhile the(SP),SS and VIP in jejunum were observed by immunohistochemistry. Results Comparing with conlrol group, the intestinal motility of rats in model group was markedly delayed (P0.01) and the contents of SS and VIP were markedly increased (P0.01 or P0.05) in plasma and jejtmum while substance P were markedly decreased (P0.01).Conclusion The intestinal motility of rats with cirrhosis was markedly delayed, which may be associated with substance P,SS and VIP.
