Clinical observation of small-incision extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation for high myopia with complicated cataract

Objective To analyze the elinical effects of small-incision extracapsular cataract extraction with intraoeular lens implantation for the treatment high myopia with complicated cataract.Methods 83 cases 109 eyes of high myopial with complicated cataract were treated by small-incision extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation.Complication during and after operations and postoperative visual acuity was analyzed retrospectively.Results The best corrected visual acuity was better than 0.2 in 98 eyes(89.9%)and was 0.5 or more in76 eyes(69.7%)after the treatment.Rupture of posterior capsule during surgery occurred in 8 eyes.Main postoperation complications included 12 eyes of corneal edema,2 eyes of intraocular hypertension,28 eyes of after-cataract,3 eyes of macula hemorrhage.Conclusion There are a few complicated during and after operation for high myopia with complicated cataract treated by small-incision extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation.Patients had good postoperative visual acuity.This operation does not need expensive equipments and is suit for primary hospitals.
