Abstract
Dibenzalpenlpentaerythritol was directly synthesized from benzaldehyde and pentaerythritol under microwave irradiation and solvent-free conditions with potassium aluminium sulfate as catalyst. The effects of microwave irradiation time, microwave irradiation power reactant ratio, amount of catalyst on the yield of dibenzalpenlpentaerythritol were studied. The results showed that the most suitable condition for the reaction are as follows:microwave iiradiation power was 462 W,radiation time was 5 min, benzaldehyde 30 mmol, pentaerythritol 15 mmol, potassium aluminum sulfate 0.3 mmol, the yield was up to 83.3%.
