Moralization of Historiography in the Song Dynasty Re- evaluated

Historiography in the South Song Dynasty and the North Song Dynasty has taken an important position in the develop-ment of Chinese historiography.From the perspective of thoughts of historiography,historiography in the Song Dynasty has promi-nently undergone a tendency of moralization.This tendency has motivated historians at that time to reconsider the implication,fea-ture and function of historiography and then put forward different categories of historiography from those in previous periods.How to evaluate the gains and loss of moralization of historiography in the Song Dynasty is not only crucial to know historiography in the Song Dynasty correctly but significant to evaluate the tradional historiography comprehensively.
