Abstract

Objective:To compare the correlation of MSCTA and color Doppler in detecting vertebral artery and their value in the diagnosis of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.Method:MSCTA examination was performed on 67 patients with cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type. The morphologic changes of vertebral artery, transverse foramen and uncovertebral joint were observed. And ertebral artery diameter, peak velocity and resistance index were measured by color Doppler at the same time.Result:In 134 vertebral arteries,126 were found to have morphological changes by MSCTA,the abnormality rate was 75%.Between them,111 were detected with blood flow abnormal by CDU,and the detection rate was 88.1%.The morphological changes of vertebral artery are in order of irregular narrow, developmental thinness, compression by hyperosteogeny, abnormally extended courses, displacements caused by traction offibrous bands, compression by malformation and complete occlusion without display. Conclusion:Both MSCTA and CDU have great value in qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.
