In this essay, we choose characters with “酉” radical as the major object to analyze. According to the meanings, these characters can be categorized into ten different kinds specifying the definition of wine, the origin of the wine, the production of wine, the taste of the wine, the colour of the wine, the ceremonial drinking of wine, the formality when drinking wine, the mood when drinking wine, the food made by wine and vintage utensils, from which we may get a general idea about Chinese ancient vintage culture.
