Influence of toad venom,salvia miltiorrhiza and matrine combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization on the immune function of the patients with hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of toad venom,salvia miltiorrhiza and matrine combined with interventional treatment on hepatocellular carcinoma,and approach the influence of the immune function in patients.Methods 48 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were randomly divided into 2 groups: treatment group with 24 cases was treated by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) combined with toad enom,salvia miltiorrhiza and matrine infusion;control group with 24 cases was treated by TACE only.After treatment,immune function was observed.Results Compared with pre-treatment,CD3+,CD4+ levels were decreased,and the level of CD8+ was increased after the operation in treatment group(P 0.05).In control group,CD3+,CD4+ levels were significantly decreased,and the level of CD8+ significant increased after the operation(P 0.01).There were significant difference between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion TACE can inhibit the immune function of the patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.Toad enom,salvia miltiorrhiza and matrine combined with TACE can advance immune function of HCC patients after TACE.
