Abstract
AIM To investigate the effect and character of lamivudine in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B. METHODS The effect of lamivudine and (huganpian with dangfeiligannin) on serum ALT, HBeAg, antiHBe and HBV DNA of 32 patients by pair matching was compared. RESULTS Rate of ALT normalization in lamivudine group was slower than in control group, but after 6 months, there was similar in two groups ( P 0 05), HBV DNA response rate in lamivudine group was 53 1%, 78 1% and 84 4% at 1,2 and 6 months of duration treatment respectively, there was significant difference between two groups ( P 0 001), but there was no statistical difference in HBeAg seroconversion rate of two groups. CONCLUSION HBV DNA response rate of lamivudine in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B was higher, descent of ALT was slower, and HBeAg seroconversion rate was low.
