Abstract

The DC bias current arising from the HVDC system may lead to a series of damages to power transformer.The DC-biasing experiment based on Epstein frame are designed and carried out.The measured magnetizing current are analyzed to study the influence of DC bias on harmonic components of magnetizing current.The iron loss is measured and analyzed under DC-biased magnetization.The DC-biasing experiment based on Epstein frame contributes to exploring the mechanism of DC bias phenomenon and designing the power transformer in engineering.
