ENLIGHTENMENT ON THE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCES FROM RUSSIAN GAS FIELDS

Russia is a country with abundant natural gas resource with huge reserves and recovery on top of the world. This paper introduced many good experiences from the developed Russian natural gas industry, from the upstream like exploration and exploitation to the downstream such as gas processing and treatment, gas pipeline, underground gas storage, and gas sales market, and so on, especially great achievements in exploiting sour gas fields. Review back to the history of the Russian natural gas industry, this paper summarized successful experiences and useful methods in many different aspects such as technology on gas field development (particular gas fields in Russia), management concepts, and talents strategy, etc., from which Chinese natural gas industry should learn more to develop and manage large-scale gas fields.
