An experimental study on long-term toxicity of Fabanxialuohanguochuanbeipipa paste

Objective To investigate the long-term toxicity of Fabanxialuohanguochuanbeipipa paste in rats.Methods The healthy SD rats were treated respectively with 30-day oral administration of high,middle and low-doses of the Fabanxialuohanguochuanbeipipa paste.The body weight of rats,hematological and biochemical parameters and organ coefficient were separately determined and the pathological examination of the rats was also performed before and after the administration and at the restoration stage (15 days after the administration).Results General state of the rats was not obviously changed,as compared with that of control subjects,including growth of weight,routine blood test,blood biochemistry,tissue and organs'state,except for a few parameters.Conclusion The Fabanxialuohanguochuanbeipipa paste shows very low toxicity in long-term toxicity test by oral administration in rats,which suggests that the drug is quite safe for long-term oral administration.
