Abstract

【Objective】This study was carried out to investigate the effects of different NaCl and Na2SO4 concentration on turnip(Brassica rapa L.) seeds germination.【Method】The experiment set six NaCl concentration stress,which are respectively 0 mmol/L,20 mmol/L,50 mmol/L,100 mmol/L,150 mmol/L and 200 mmol/L;and six Na2SO4 concentration stress,which are respectively 0 mmol/L,10 mmol/L,50 mmol/L,100 mmol/L,150mmol/L and 200mmol/L.The seeds of rapa turnip were treated under salt stress and the seeds germination rate,germination potential,germination index,and vitality index were measured.【Result】The result showed that seeds germination rate,germination potential,and relative salty harming rate had no big difference compared with the control.The inhibition is big when the concentration reached 200 mmol/L.When Na2SO4 concentration is lower than 100 mmol/L,it had little inhibition on turnip seed germination,and when the concentraion is over 150 mmol/L,it has an obvious inhibition effect.Index such as seed germination and relative vitality index all showed a decreasing trend.【Conclusion】Salt stress has an obvious inhibitory effect on turnip seed germination,and with the increase of salt concentration,germination rate,germintion potential and relative vitality index decrease gradually,and relative salty harming rate increases.During germination period,the turnip seed is salt-tolerant to some extent.
