Abstract
In Lanzhou, water resources and land resources have strong restriction to urban development, therefore city generally gathered in land sector of better natural condition. The distribution of cities has non-balanced characteristic. With developing of city,land-using is expansion. But because of its periphery special environment,Lanzhou can not develop the over-flow unlimitedly, and needs to choose one kind that suits to uncontinual city spatial development pattern-to development pattern,to construct new city area paralleled with old city outside.Through analyzing Lanzhou's history, present situation and existing problems, proposal is putforward for inevitability of Lanzhou city's space jump and its direction.Which can serve as a reference of solving generally existing spatially uncontinual problem in northwest China.
