Abstract

Objective:To study the VEGF and p21 ras protein expression and its clinical significance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods:The expression of VEGF and p21 ras in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissue was determined by immunochemical technique. Results:There were obvious difference in tissue VEGF protein expression with different clinical N-Staging, cervical lymph nodes metastasis and distant metastasis. There were no difference in tissue p21 ras protein expression with different clinical N-Staging, cervical lymph nodes metastasis and distant metastasis.Conclusion:1.The positive expression of VEGF can be one of the prognostic factors in NPC. 2. p21 ras protein expression has no relationship with prognosis, but can be used as one of the early diagnosis method for its higher expression . 3.There is no correlation between VEGF and p21ras.
